No plans for mass-production, since the project is accompanying a dissertation based around Open Sound Control and the creation and use of custom performance controllers, but still it’s nice to know people are interested. Thanks!

Also, with the Maxome containing open source code written for the Monome by Brian Crabtree and Kelli Cain, I wouldn’t want to sell any of these devices for a profit.

I’ll publish some more details on the build as the project progresses, but I’ll tell you right now; this project has been expensive. One-off components such as circuit boards and aluminium faceplates, and the sheer amount of different equipment that is being built into the case of the Maxome has driven the total cost to something outrageous, but it’s also been incredibly satisfying to design and build something like this, so if you think a controller like this would suit what you want, go for it and build one!
